Daniel is Four

Master Daniel has turned 4. He had a very relaxed day, unfortunately he's got a cold but he still had a great time. Panckae breakfast, presents, visit from Grandpa, play with neighbours, play with BIG BOY LEGO, and then afternoon tea and cake with Nana and Poppy all topped off with fresh prawn rolls for dinner. A very lucky boy. Here are some of the photos from his day.

Cousins

Daniel, Kate and I met up with Amanda, Ben and Harrison at IKEA, they needed some well earned peanut butter sandwiches afterwards.

Morning at the Museum

The weather has been dreadful, we are never happy. So we decided we'd head to the museum this morning. The kids had fun, Kate was quite wary of the big things, specially the red back spider. And naturally the singing whales had them both frightened. It was good to get out of the house.

Christmas 2010

It's Christmas time again, time for Kate to freak out at the sight of Santa. She was all OK with it until he wanted her to sit next to him. The screaming started and didn't really stop, she wouldn't even sit next to Daniel. So as you can see a compromise was made and Mummy sat in.
Daniel asked Santa for some "big boy lego". We'll have to see what he brings.

Kate is 2!

Kate turned 2 on Friday. Unfortunately I had to work all day but we rescheduled her birthday cake to Sunday. We were lucky to have Grandma visiting from Townsville, so Kate spent her birthday with Grandma and Daniel. Nana and Poppy also stopped by to say hello.
Sunday we had a Fish Cake. Grandpa, Mel, Stu, Hamish, Annabelle, Nicole, Ben, Josie and Charlotte all came over. She is really loving her new baby dolls....

Movie World

Second stop on our theme park list was Movie World, a beautiful spring day, what more could we want? Maybe a child who enjoyed himself..... Daniel had a miserable time, refusing to ride on anything and held his fingers in his ears and cried about everything! This time we were joined by Marcia, David and Dennis who all have passes too. I'm happy to say I even went on the Superman roller coaster and it was fun, cured my sinus I think!

Seaworld

We have purchased a Family Pass for 3 of the big theme parks in SE Qld. Our first stop was Seaworld. Unfortunately it was a wet, gloomy and cold day, on the plus side there weren't too many people. Kate liked the dolphins, although she kept calling them "fish" and Daniel had fun on the flume ride with Marshall. We only lasted a few hours but we'll be back again.

Townsville Trip 2010

Daniel was lucky this year to accompany me to Townsville. I had to go for work so Daniel came along for the ride and spent time at Grandma and Grand-dad's. Waiting to leave on the plane was difficult. Daniel was quite excited and full of many many many questions!!! We were lucky enough to catch up with Daniel's second cousins, Lily, Sam and Rosie. We went up to the Ross Dam and had a look around.
Daniel did lots at Grandma and Grand-dad's, including collecting hay for the gardens, picking and eating strawberries, tomatoes, beans and mulberries straight from the garden, sawing a number of banana tress, swimming in the creek, riding in the truck and on the ride on lawn mower. He also helped Grand-dad cook eggs on an open fire for breakfast. Daniel also helped Grand-dad pick a beautifully sweet watermelon.
I think Grandma and Grand-dad were quite tired at the end of the few days but everyone had a great time.

A Weekend Favourite!

Marshall has made it a tradition to cook us all pancakes on Sundays and there are no shortages of helpers either!

Wild Woman Tamed

Kate's hair is becoming unruly. Mel has assured me persistence pays, Kate is now allowing me to get her hair into pigtails. Next thing will be to ditch the dummy!
